Despite being an engineer in on the ground floor of personal computing (I can still speak MSDOS), technology has long since passed me by where I call my GRANDSON for tech advice. I am still kinda new to these forums, so bear with me. I responded to the PMs. Thanks for your interest.
For anyone else interested in these bags, they are factory OEM bags that came with the 1996 FXDS Conv. They are hard mounted (removable) so there is specific hardware on the bike that accommodates this. One of the mounting points is a reinforced threaded bolt hole in the rear fender way down low. I would advise that if your bike does not have this type of mount, these bags will be either of little use, or, will require some ingenuity, modifications and possibly some drilling of your ride before being useable. AND, these suckers are old When I got the bike it looked like it bever spent a single night indoors, and that goes for the bags. They are fully functional and pretty much water resistant from what I can see, but they do be rather ugly. I'll post a photo elsewhere in this forum.
