Rigid Mount Sissy Bar Mod
My used Fat Bob came with a rigid mount sissy bar. I think it looks dumb, but she won't ride without it. Now if any of you guys have had to put one of these %^&*$#! things on, you know it can be a pain in @$$.
Since I found myself putting it on and taking it off on a regular basis, I decided to modify the brackets to make it a little easier on myself. I slotted several of the holes that fit over bolts on the fender, leaving the holes on the fender support bracket alone. Also attached some felt to the inside of the brackets to help prevent scratching the paint.
The end result allows me to slide the whole set up on and off with minimum swearing and in less than ten minutes. The backrest is still secure, and she couldn't tell any difference. So I saved $150+ in not having to buy a Quick-Detach set up, and get the satisfaction of having one-upped the MoCo...sort of.
