It's funniy how you can obviously see in the first pic that it is an aluminum grip. But yet people still post methods you would use to remove a rubber grip. Wake up America. You might try lightly tapping all around it with a brass hammer to shock it and break loose any possible corrosion.

Joe, not sure if someone has already suggested this, but you may want to try the trick used to remove dents in a car. Heat the grips and bars with a heat gun then use a can of air upside down and direct the liquid (really cold) onto the bars (not the grips) and see if the bars will shrink faster then the grips and break some of it apart.

Joe, sorry no suggestions for the grip removal, but the idea you are going for sounds great!! Been thinking about having some things done with a brass look in powder, kinda like what you are talking about. in fact, I have emailed a few companys about having my front fork tubes done with Titanium Nitrate (nitrade) coating, then do some other parts, kinda like what your doing. Please post some pics!!! It will look bada$$!!
