Default Aftermarket seat buyer beware

I'll a little new to this, but found out today that an aftermarket seat I ordered from Drag Specialties / Saddleman is not returnable. Once you have merely placed it on your bike it is considered "installed" and is not returnable. I even spoke directly to Saddleman and they weren't interested in hearing that you didn't like the overall fit on the bike or the butt placement in the design. Can you imagine not being able to try on shoes before making the decision to buy? I even offered to pay a reasonable "restocking" fee but I guess they are just desperate for sales. Neither company will ever do business with me again. Also p***ed me off that no mention of not being able to return the item was made when I paid for and placed the order.

Just resell the seat on ebay or forum classifieds.

It sucks when this crap happens, good luck with selling the seat.

thanks for the buyer beware post, So did the seat fit/bolt on your bike fine? If it fits the bike with no major flaws then your probably best to do as Tony mentioned and use the classifieds or ebay to get rid of it. I have also heard good things about C&C seats, good customer service and fast and they even offer custom made seats for dynas...

I have a C&C one piece seat on my BOB and like it. Looks good and is comfortable.

Mojo

The seat was one of the currently advertised Leather Profiler seats with the Tattoo flame pattern. As to fit...it didn't fit up to the rear of my tank as much as I would have liked. Much more of a gap than with the stock HD seat. Also, for me the seating portion for the rider was longer than the stock seat...probably by 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I'm 5'10" and would probably be just right for a 6' and plus rider. Overall just wasn't right for me and I knew it right away but things you can't tell by a picture. It wasn't on the bike 3 minutes and my rear mounting bolt is a knurled aftermarket piece that hand tightens against an o-ring so that didn't cause any marks what-so-ever to the chrome tang at the rear of the saddle. There's just no consideration from the guy at Saddleman and Drag Specialties goes by their policy which I didn't know until too late. I know I can't treat my customers like that and continue to do business with them so I'll return the favor.

I'll probably sell on e-bay on day...just not in the mode to deal with it just now. Thanks for your interest!

Hey man;
Just an idea. take a good look at the mounting hardware on the seat. I don't know your saddle, but I have seen others that moving a bracket will get it into place.
