I called 3 Dealers today and gave them the lowdown on my mileage/bike setup. Given my driving conditions (90% city driving), each said that sounds about right (29-33mpg). I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Hell, I still have 1.5 years left on my warranty. [&:]

I was gettin low 30's around town and going to work daily on my bob, THEN I went down to Tennessee on a weekend road trip(450 miles each way) and was greatly suprised! I posted on here that I got 51 MPG on the way back up from Tennessee

That was running in traffic about 65-70 most of the way though.........


I have about 4000 miles on the bike now.

 

yip, me as well, around 48 to 50, sitting at 60 to 70 mph, havnt tried in town yet, im still running in, 650 miles so far. i have only changed the pipes to nearly straight throughs, for a better sound , no download done either.[IMG][/IMG]

 

I am one of those retired scientist, compulsive note taker types so I will tell you what I have gotten on my Bob so far. I just got it on 18 May and took it in a couple days ago for the 1000 mile service. So far, for mileage I got 48, 46, 44, 46, 51.7, and 49.3 MPG. I am sure some of the variation is due to the difficulty in filling it to the same level each time. These were during breakin period and at conservative speeds, partly because of breaking it in and partly due to the fact that most speed limits in my county are at 55 MPH. I think 55 feels too slow for 6th so most of it is in fifth gear or lower. All miles were without passenger. At these numbers, you guys probably think I drive like an old man. But, then, I am an old man, or at least well on my way.

I am having the Stage 1 done with the 1000 mile service, with SEIIs, SE air cleaner and Harley download. I hope I don't screw up a good thing.

 

I do not know exactly what the milage was but I just drove from Atlanta to Birmingham and back on 1 1/2 tanks of gas. Maybe a bit less actually because I drove around a lot in Birmingham. I have a stock 06 Bob but that is about to change. I think a lot has to do with how you drive the bike. In stop and go traffic I find the bike drinks a lot of gas bit when doing non stop cruising it gets fabulous milage.

I have 4000 on mine so far and I save enough money every month to make the payment by not driving my Yukon. At the end of the month you cannot argue with the simple money facts at my house.

 

I have never really checked my MPG, I know I put about 150 miles on the bike doing Rolling Thunder and that was a mixure of Hwy, and congested city riding. I filled up that morning and when I got home I had a little more than a 1/4 tank left. Really I didn't buy this bike for the gas milage, I bought it for it's looks and the fact that it's a Harley. If I wanted gas milage I would have bought a metric bike. Oh yeah I got that mileage with Stage 1 A/C Vance & Hines Short Shot Staggered and PC III, and I wasn't babying the throttle.

 

Bone stock, mine started around 30mpg. As it broke in it got up to around 35mpg. Now that I've got some miles on the Stage II 95" I'm getting almost 40mpg. I've got 2500mi on it total. Riding style will have an impact on mileage. I run the **** out of mine.

 

I would take it in and let someone check it out . Mine gets at least 40 mpg and Im not easy on the throttle either

 

So I finally got the Bob on a two-tank freeway run today (San Diego and back). 43mpg going about 70mph. City is around 29mpg. Big difference, huh?

I had my best tankful to date last week, mostly highway miles. 44mpg. I'm happy with it, although it doesn't save me any money, I just ride more.
