Riding 2 up

RE: Riding 2 up
I have an 02 wideglide and have 75k on it. About 85% of my riding is 2-up. I put on the 1/2 in. longer progressives on the rear and did nothing to the front except the next heavier oil and we are quite comfy and it handles good too. With your bike it should be a piece of cake. Take mama with and she'll be nicer to you when you get home . I was taught that if you tell yourpassenger to look in the direction of the turn she will naturally lean the proper amount, it works good for me------jack

RE: Riding 2 up
I weigh about 220 & my wife about 160. My advice...don't even go into the whole "leaning with me" lecture. I just told my wife to sit back & relax & let me worry about the driving. Although you should add a little bit more air to the back tire, I never have & I've only botomed out the shocks once going over a decent size pot hole. Only difference with riding a passenger...a little more throttle at take-off, can't curve into corners like you'd normally do & preparing to stop a little bit sooner than normal with a bit more brake applied...that's really it. At the request of my wife, I m putting on a low size sissy bar as she said she'd feel a bit more comfortable & secure. Riding with a passenger is fun...enjoy!
