Best forward controls

Kuryakyn not being nice is an opinion and not necessarily a fact. I've had 2 sets and happy with both. Very easy to install if you have basic tools and can follow instructions. I first installed the standard length controls and later changed them out for the extended length controls. The HD controls can be installed as easily as the Kury's if you can find a cover for the mid shifter spline like the one the Kury kit comes with. Otherwise, you'd have to remove the primary cover and remove internal shifter parts and then plug the hole where the spline used to be. I've heard of dealers quoting more for labor to do this than the parts themselves cost. I think both kits retail for about $400 but I know you can get the Kury kit online for about $300 shipped and do the install yourself.

I wouldn't recommend the extended forwards. I tried the Kury extends at first and ended up hating them as it was too much of a reach and had a hard time keep my feet from sliding off the pegs at 6'1" tall. I have since switched to a set of black H-D controls and love them.
Both the Kury and H-D are nice quality sets with the deciding factor being price and color for me as Kury didn't offer theirs in black .

My idea of the best forward controls are not the HD brand. My idea of the best ones are the opnes that move the rear master cylinder up with the controls instead of leaving it where it is hard to get to. If I had to do over again I never would have had the HD controls installed. Search Ebay, there are lots of good ones on there.

As for the forwards with the master cylinder moved forward, I've yet to see the big deal with that. After 3 years, I haven't had to be concerned at all yet where the rear master cylinder is located. There are some really nice forward control sets out there but many of them are expensive. The Kury and HD kits look good and don't break the bank. The Kury's are designed to be rider installed with simple tools and don't require the primary to be opened up. The HD kit does but it can also be installed like the Kury kit but you have to go out and find a spline cover since it doesn't come with one.
