My 02 carb bike seemed to do this more on our recent road trip thru Canada and in New York. Both areas sell 10% ethanol gas. Used Sunoco 94 and Citgo 93. Bike has BB kit and cams. Think this maybe a character of the ethanol gas? Bike hasn't done this since using non-ethanol gas. Gas mileage suffered a little bit also.

I LOVE it! It transforms the bike completely, and is how they should come from the factory. The engine runs cooler, the torque and power band feels more linear...
and, I did it all myself. I bought a PC-V from fuel moto after I figured out what AC and pipes I was going to run, cost $312 shipped and loaded with the proper map.
I bought the SE stage 1 air cleaner, the dealer gave me $200 in parts so that was basically free, but it would have been $150 minus the 15% off they give for the discount I get...
and I scored a set of used slip-on's off here till I figured out what full system I wanted. I paid $180 for them, and you can buy new cycle shacks for that much or Rush...or watch for the used ones.
So, I am $492 in my stage 1. Would have been $620 if I paid for the AC myself.
The install is EASY. Get yourself a service manual and if you can change your own oil, you can install the AC, slip-on's/exhaust system and whatever tuner you chose to go with yourself and save a bundle.
Good luck! and sorry for the thread hijack.

Yeah, mine does it only when people are watchin too. Inevitably they always ask me what's up with that? I just shrug my shoulders and try again. The other thing I noticed is that it only does it when the motor is hot (at a refueling stop etc), but if I let it cool down/first thing in the morning. Starts right up on first crank.
