Default VIN & Emissions Decal on Frame

Sitting in the garage having a beer, looking at my bike asking myself "Self, what next" and I noticed the VIN / Emission Decal on the right down tube of the frame and wondered why haven't I removed this. Anybody else remove this decal / sticker and if so is it just like removing any other decal / sticker?

Self, I kept the VIN but removed the other stuff. Easy to do.....just heat with a hair dryer and peel off slowly. The use WD40 or similar to get any residue off.

Peels right off pretty easily. Use a little heat from a heat gun if you have to but I dont think you will need it. your bike will look alot better w/o that ugly decal!!

Good luck hope this helps...

I agree it looks better without the stickers.

But in the back of my head theres a little voice telling me that sometime, somewhere, theres going to be some half wit brainless civil servant thats going to ask you, "Where's your EPA compliance sticker?". I hope "stuck to an envelope in the tool bag" will be a good enough answer for him.

I hope it never comes to that, but we were saying the same type of things about cars in the 60's. Look what that got us.

I removed both. The vin is stamped in the neck. The only other info that I care about was the mfg date.

Mine just peeled off by getting it started at the corner. No extra heat or chemicals. Left virtually no residue either.
