Adding some tunes to my rides...
#23
In Maryland, it is illegal to cover both ears while driving/riding. This applies to cages as well as bikes.
I currently use a set of Shure E2C earphones with an 2nd gen iPod Shuffle. The Shure's have interchangeable earpieces and came with a soft plastic, hard plastic, and foam earpiece (each in 2 sizes). It took a little bit of time to figure out which earpiece was the most comfortable for me, but I can ride all day with them. They have the added bonus of blocking out some of white noise of the wind and toning down the growl of my Rinehart pipes.

I use a set of custom made ear plugs, made like hearing aids (molded to individual ear). I use them at work, home yard work and riding the bike. They are not cheap though, 200.00 a set, but the sound is just incredible and yet I can still hear somewhat with them if i want.

I use some noise reduction ear buds too. The ones I bought came with 3 different size attachments, so you can find one that fits well into your ear. The stock Ipod buds are junk, and won't stay in when I put on my helmet (I wear FF). I like the noise reduction, it blocks out the wind noise and pressure, some of the pipe and I don't have to crank the music to hear it fine. This reduces the hearing damage caused by the wind/pipes, without adding in more with music. Be careful!
My wife has a set of skull candy's for her Ipod and they are nice for the price!
