So I am thinking about raking the ol' WG out a lil bit more, do any of you much more wiser mech's know what all would have to go into doing this; how it would handle, if different at all; and how extensive/expensive it would be.. tips and tech would be greatly appreciated, along with all your opinions of course...

"Big Kid" has a black headlight on his, ask him where he got it.....I just bought that HD chrome trim ring for mine (the visor'd one) and it's enough for me right now.
I do have my gloss black HD flush mounted gas cap/ guage (the LED one) on the way to my house right now! Can't wait. I'll post pics when I get them on tonight!

luv,
They look like this:
My buddy who works at a dealer brought them to me, and it took me about 20 minutes or so to put them in. I just now finished....this is a bad cell phone pic, but you get the idea.
You are supposed to undo the tank and slide it back, ect......if you are careful you can do everything without taking half the bike apart. Looks good, I like!

I would get the ones from Harley that have the "A" on the end of the part number. It is an updated version with better LED's (that won't go out like the old ones). All I have ever seen on the Bay is the older version...
The wire to the gas guage runs under the tank. You have to unplug it and plug the new wire in....they recommend you undo your seat, then the front bolts on the gas tank and slide it back a few inches in order to get to the wires and clip.
You really don't have to. If you are careful (not to scratch the tank getting to the wires under the tank) you can do everything with the bike assembled..it littereally took like 15-20 minutes to install this thing..I'll get some better pics today in the daylight.....
