Got the front ones off for now. Might mess with the rear tomorrow.

Hey Guys I'm new to the forum and this question may have come around a lot, but has anyone found a good solution for a solo seat luggage rack that does not require removing the stock sissy bar?

HD has one in the P&A catalog.

It's been a while since I spent much time in these parts, but I know of no better place to come for info. I have a 2010 Wide Glide with a few mods and I am thinking about lowering the bike an inch (front and rear should be done at the same time right?). I want to replace the rear shocks (stock Fat Bob shocks from '10) because the chrome has started peeling. What have you guys done to accomplish lowering? Is lowering even a good idea? Or should I just get new stock length rears? What are the kits and parts you've found to be reliable and doable for the garage mechanic. I've done all my mods but the actual paint on my tins, so I am fairly competent.

Thanks In Advance

I used the 1" lowering blocks on mine. I understand your replacing shocks due to finish flaking off, but it's also an alternative. You could sand and paint your current shocks and do what I did if you wanted to save a little money.

Thanks. I thought about the blocks, but ultimately i don't want to change the geometry of the shocks, as I tend to ride a little aggressive at times. Actually that's one of my concerns about lowering. Wondering if I'll lose too much lean angle.

What's your experience with the difference in lean angle?

Well, lots of guys are going up 1" - 1.5" to gain cornering angle and performance... Seems logical that going down a similar amount would noticeably hurt those attributes.

Again, no experience myself. Just going by what I've read here.

Only difference I noticed is my boot heels now scrub a little bit on an aggressive corner. But for me that's rare because I like going straight and fast. I don't like to corner the way slant bikes do.
