Hey guys I am swapping my stock handle bars to carlini 9" clean sweeps anyone know if the stock wires will be long enough? I am all most positive the cables will be fine. When aligning the two the grip locations are very similar but the extra length of wire in the handlebars is a bit concerning. Thought I read someone here did it with out issues. Thanks Also anyone else running these with pics i would love to see how they look.

Did you need to change wires at all?

Thank you, I actaully baught the extension kit just in case before I read this so thats nice I can take that back. Sweet I will have to get some pics up after the install. Did you remove your tank or just lift it up? Becuase of the connector tubing under the tank seems like gas is going to get everywhere even if you drain the tank because its such a low point and no way to get everything out. Guy at the dealership said just plug with figures and have another guy pick the tank up. I am hoping I can find them (the connectors with out removing the tank.

I had the tank off to repaint the motorcycle. You should be able to just lift the front, or just take the grommets out to get to everything.

take the tank off
I recommend you take the tank off. When I switched my bars I found that it was MUCH easier that way. Yes, I did get a bit of fuel here and there, but the wiring is no walk in the park. You're going to have to take apart the Molex connectors, or cut and splice everything. Also, when you're running the wires make sure you lube the hell out of the bars inside. HD recommends using glass cleaner for that.
