New '10 Wide Glide

Congrats on the new bike, man. Those things are awesome.
We have a local bike night on Wednesday's at the QS&L next to the dealership, so I went in while I was there this week and sat on one. Went back over there for lunch today, and sat on it again. The salesman's getting ready to start reeling me in. I was really amazed at how much lower it sits than my FXDC. It feels real good, but I told him, we just lookin. I'm just now wearin' the newness off this one.
BTW, I went with the 1.75" Rush Slip-Ons to avoid having to mess with the fuel management sys, and I'm real happy with them. I may do something different down the road, but for now we're good. Although, I may have to replace my bars or do something else pretty big to make me quit thinking about that WG!
Sweet Ride. Ride Safe!

Thanks for the heads up on the Rush. My dealer decided I needed the 2"
so I'll soon let you know how it is. Did a dealer or you install them and if you, any problems?

I let them do it at my 1000 mile service. They had discounted that because I bought the bike there and waived the labor charge on the pipe install.
I know, took the easy way out. I'm more comfortable installing hi-way pegs, back rests and risers and such. I may tackle the handlebars in the near future.

These rules were originally posted by TOPSPIN:
My passenger rules.
1. Always keep my your feet on the pegs.
2. Left turn - look over my left shoulder
3. Right turn - look over my right shoulder
4. Lean forward when accellerating
5. Lean back when braking
I printed a copy of this for my wife on my new '10 Wide Glide. She's ridden briefly 30 years ago with her first husband on his Norton but after explaining and positioning herself on my bikes little pillion, she agreed its much different. We rode for about 20 miles and had a GREAT time!! Today I'll order some new parts: larger removeable sissy bar with pad, and probably a new seat as well to make her ride more comfortable. Now the trick; convince her that I "NEED" to keep the '10 WG for me and in case she wants to ride more; get a larger bike such as a road king for us!!

Riding yesterday
An interesting thing happened yesterday on the way home. On a new stretch of road at an intersection, with a sweeping tun to the right, as I turned, my heel struck the pavement and ALMOST took my foot off the peg. While I know I don't have a sportbike; "canyon carver", I never would have thought that I could turn/ lean enough to take my foot off the peg. I'll have to learn to be a bit more careful!!
