Default nail

got a nail in my rear tire last night. anybody got any tips, tricks, or pointers for rear wheel removal and replacement, any advice would be greatly apreciated. thanks in advance

thanx for all the replys for anyone who wants to know i just tore into it and it and there wasnt too much to it i would recomend taking the caliper and the muffler first after that it's all just remove and replace

I would say use a peice of wood and a rubber mallet to get the axle started, if you are having any trouble getting it out.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. I am at work now and don't have the service manual in front of me now.

You will need some sort of nut cover that help align the wheel when you are ready to get it back on. I would suggest getting those and use a small but sturdy peice of wire you can bend and mark to get an idea on where they are aligned before you take the tire off (there is a pin hole for the alignment just in front of the axle nut and bolt). However, it isn't a big deal to tighten it back up the way it should be anyway.

Not a Harley but same concept.
