A friend want's to get a Harley to go riding with his wife as a passenger; he rides a CBR600 and competes in motocross as well. I took his wife on my Dyna a couple of times and she's all for it, so he's now looking for a used Dyna. My wife just happened to point out that she may be more comfy on the back of a RK and if he's going touring it won't be much cheaper by the time it's outfitted...we'll see what happens...
Doesn't the Road King have cruise control as standard equipment?

Don't think cruise is standard on RK's; we just installed it on my buddies...

Wife and I had a RK for a day; the windshield was the size of our kitchen table top and it had a tour pack on it, so a nice backrest...she was comfy but I didn't like the handling or power compared to my ride. She was comfy enough on mine with the sundowner but pretty windy compared to the RK...

I wouldn't say a dyna looks better in full dress than a road king classic (IMHO). The full size bags on a dyna kinda clash with the thinner front end and skinny tire...again, only my opinion. I think the RKC looks much more purportioned than a dyna with a whole bunch of crap (crap that is needed though) bolted to it. It never looks like it belongs there on a dyna...except for Jakyl and JRK's bikes. That being said, I would prefer a dyna with touring "crap" bolted on instead of a bagger. I'll let you know if I change my mind after my cross-country road trip next week.

P.S. I do think that FatBobs look better than other dyna's with bags and a windshield installed. But I prefer the "Icecaps" look.

why do you say that. There is no right or wrong venue and is not off topic. They noticed what they noticed and I gave my opinion. Either way your sig pics proves my point. Your bike is sitting on the jiffy and the floor boards are barely like 3 inches off the ground.

I'm not bashing RK, just depends on the riding which the OP didn't state till later. For 2 up riding gravy, do it. For all the above I'll take my Dyna!! IMO!!

I dig the dyna line, but the RK Classic is tops in my book.

I'd sure like to have my Fat Bob AND a Road King.

But it's not possible, and so I have my Fat Bob.

Not sure I'd ever have a windshield on either.

I knew this post would bite me in the a$$ since 24 hours later I was riding my new RKC home. You have to ride the new frame to know how well they handle. The stock bars kinda suck though and I'm finding that the bars are almost always changed out asap, just like superglide buckhorns. At least I got a black motor this time, lol. Brakes are WAY better, even though the RKC is heavier.
