I myself have a 09 FXDC. I went with a detachable 19" Memphis Shade and love it. I ride from Kansas to Colorado often and if your from these areas then you know about the bugs. I didn't want the windscreen for the wind I wanted it for the bugs. Personally I enjoy the feeling of the wind but after adding the windscreen I do feel Buffeting on my helmit, but I'm usually enjoying the ride too much to notice.

I never thought about the bugs. Being from Buffalo, I ride along Lake Erie and the Niagara River to and from work. Man, the bugs are in swarms. I wear a bandana over my nose and mouth but the big ones still hurt.

By the way, the "Light" in A/2/1st 196th Light Inf. Bde means we carried all our gear. You may be CAV but you gotta respect the Light Infantry.

I bought a HD detachable sport windshield. I love it. I get a little wind and protection at the same time.
