Default Throttle cables

Hi guys, I am tring to change bars on my street bob and I got new thottle cables and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the old ones out of the switch houseing is there a clip holding them in? All so it looks like I will have to switch the clutch cable to, how hard is that and do the 06's use the same cable as the older ones?

Thanks

Jeff

Your throttle cables will pull out of the housing with a little force just twist and pull out. The outer transmission cover has to come off,no big thing here you will see what has to be done when you remove it to free the cable. The 06 cables have a plastic coating to reduece friction but that may be the only difference. If you have an older one the correct length I would use it.

setting up the new cables is the trick of the whole deal. open the throtlle wide open and adjust the play on the throttle side until the throttle arm reaches the stop on the carb. then close the throttle and turn the handlebars all the way to the right. now adjust the back side cable until it just hits the spring at the carb. this will let the throttle turn easily and have the right amount of play in it.
