I like it okay ... I don't have a Wide Glide, so don't have anything 'invested' in it one way or the other.
That rear fender is quite a departure from any predecessor, though. Like half way between a stock fender from anything else and a Street Bob ... certainly a departure from the traditional 'ski jump' style fender.
The handlebars appear to be the standard Super Glide style with a tall riser to give it added height over the other models and something of a Wide Glide feel ...
I really like the engine and especially the black primary cover. But, I have never been a fan of the FXDF style 'Tommy Gun' exhaust, either ... to each his own, I suppose.
The dash is quite a bit different too ... looks like the smaller size 4" speedo and switch on the console ... I could see a lot of Street Bob owners running out and buying that (assuming I'm right about the speedo size).
I like the Pu$$y Pad and the wheels ... I will definitely be looking up the part no for the P-pad.
I like the new flame job, too ... SWEET!
Over all, a lot of changes for the old timers to digest ... I suppose it'll be a lot like the introduction of the '09 Street Bob--created a lot of controversy until everyone got used to it. Like the old Buick commercials used to say: "This is not your father's Buick (Wide Glide) ...."

- Oh, to add some background to the engine sizes ... back when the 88" (1450 cc) was the standard, the Screamin' Eagle/CVO had 103" ... when they increased the standard displacement to 96" (1584 cc) they increased the size of the Screamin' Eagle/CVO to 110" ....

The side mount plate and 180 rear tire are really cool, but that's about it for me.

Sorry, I am a bit disappointed, but happy at the same time. Im happy because I am definately keeping my Wide Glide. I always felt the WideGlide was the best model made, but this new one is NOT a WG. Sorry.
Its a WideBob, or a FatGlide, not a WG.
They also cut some big costs since its starting under $15499. The FatBob is higher priced at $15999.
The older WideGlides MSRP was around 18K if I remember right.
Its a cool bike though!!!

I think the MoCo could have reintroduced the WG with:
-103" standard
-fat 200 rear w/bobtail fender
-fatter 120/70 21 front tire
-Softail custom style 2-up seat and sissy bar
-detachable bags, like the CVO Softail
-internal wired APES
-all the chrome from the past (not into black out)
+ the new flame tank option
THAT would be a reintroduction
