Here are some photos of my 2003 Low Rider with a Mustang Solo Studded and a Mustang Wide Solo Studded seat. I prefer the looks of the narrow seat but my butt prefers the feel of the wide seat.
The stock seat is narrower at the rear and is more of a 'tailbone ride'. The Mustang seats are wider at the rear and give you more support, spread out over your butt and your upper legs.
Wide for me too at 240lbs. Man I love this seat and ride most of the time without the backrest but the backrest really works well on rides over say 150 miles. Happy camper here.
The bike looks fine with the wide. Dont sacrifice comfort for alittle looks if you ride the hell out of it.
Add another for the Wide. I have the Wide Vintage Super Touring Seat (what a mouthful). It's a two-up seat. I'm 6' and 210 lbs and the comfort level is top notch. There's no comparison to the stock seat.
With my skinny rear at 170, I chose the standard. It's great and most of my ride are short. If I was going to be tourning I would sure have gotten the bigger one. It sure beats the stock seat...foresure!!!
