TourPack for 06 StreetBob
This was a thread from way back - but wanted to share the results I've had. Just rode the 610 miles back from Kansas City yesterday and feel great. The backrest is nice, stores a TON of luggage, and it takes me just a couple minutes to load up.
-Detachable Docking Hardware Kit from Harley (53961-06)
-Tour Pack from Ebay Cool-Gear (JK001)
-Detachable Sissy Bar Sideplates from Harley (52866-09) ... which I gave to my buddy to deconstruct and weld new support structure.
-Rustoleum Flat Black Paint and Satin Clear Finish

I've been emailing Jackyl to make the hardware to do that exact thing. The hardware he has available now puts the tourpack behind the rider. I ride solo and thought that having the tourpak right behind me would be perfect. Says he's working on the docking hardware but haven't seen it yet. That looks great. As far as it being too far forward, it would probably be perfect for me as I'm not tall and don't have the luxury of being able to lean back!

Positioning of the trunk was placed to fit me. I'm a 5'4" woman and even with pull back risers appreciate where the backrest places me on the bars.
I talked with Jackyl too but couldn't wait for the prototype to be done! (sorry J!). I imagine that placing the trunk so far forward from the standard detachable side plates is throwing him for a loop. I'll never ride 2up on my bike - so deconstructing and rewelding the sideplates made sense for me.
I'll snap a pic of just the bracket and repost.
Ride safe,
Sharon
