I wish I could find one I like. I know some of those air horns are loud. I also understand the theory about being louder from behind. Thats 100% true.
However, I am pretty loud when I crack it from up front too. It got her attention quick. She heard me loud and clear.
I also have to admit, I can crack the throttle a hell of a lot faster than I can find my horn button. I just dont use it enough.

I have actually yelled at people about to pull out in front of me. Its also a lot easier than finding that damn little button.
I suppose I could get a squeeze horn on my apes. Give me that old school banana seat 10 year old feeling again

Hey Tide - glad you're OK.
I've yelled at people too (not sure how effective that actually is), but I can't find that little button either. I'm afraid I'd wreck trying to blow the damn horn. "Clutch, brake, throttle" is way more natural in the heat of the moment than "horn" for me. I wonder if lefties have this same trouble?

I guarantee she would have never heard the horn and I would have been down.

Loud pipes can save lives when used to wake up an inattentive driver.
Yup. Your hand is already on the throttle. Usually, when I try to find my horn button, I turn on my brights and left turn signal, THEN hit the horn. Like you, I find it easier, at times, to just pull in the clutch and blip the throttle - or crack it wide open. There are times, such as when I think someone might pull out in front of me, that I'll get my thumb ready on the horn button.

No doubt, making EXTRA noise can get someone's attention.

Yes, I'm a lefty and still have this problem...cracking the throttle or swearing generally works better for me.
