Do what I did. I bought some replacement turn signals for about $35. Then cut the original ones off at the control boxes. Cut the wires in the neck. Installed the new turnsignals and plugged them in. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of working the wires out of the bars.

I watched my tech while he was doing it. I got the Kuryakyn turn signal relocation kit. He had to pull the turn signal wires out of the wiring harness, pull them out to the side and then cut and resolder the wires. I can try to send some close up shots when I get the chance. It looks so much cleaner though. I really like them off the handlebars.
