FXDF: Getting right side pass peg mount off
#22
When I had this problem I found that a Craftsman torx was a little bit shorter than the Snap-on and it left just enough space. I jused a small piece of pipe as an extension on the handle and it gave me enough leverage. I was installing not removing.
I have also stripped out the chinzy aluminum screw that holds the belt guard on. Had to use a small hard chisel and tap lightly to get it started moving and then got a vice grip to grasp it and get it off.
Fortunately the craft shop has a lot of the tools/lift and I only had to buy the torx/rachet.

I do have the one I took off my Street Bob sitting in my garage. I am not sure if it is the same as the one that comes on a Fat Bob or not. If you would like it you can have it, but someone earlier in the thread said something about it only costing 10$ so it maybe easier just to swing by the dealer up there and pick it up. If you happen to head down toward Hampton and would like the mount just let me know. I live pretty close to 64 near the water.
If you want you are more than welcome to ride down here and put the mount on in my garage. I have the tools and usually have a beer or two in the fridge.
