Default Another dumb MAP question

I have read a bunch of threads on this, but to make sure that I understand it...

I have an 09 FXD that I have Cycle Shack slip-ons, Xied's and I am putting on a SE stage 1 A/C. I am not planning any additional engine modifications. So, do I just take it to the stealership and tell them what my add-on's are and they just flash the MAP for around $150?

Thanks again for all the help you guys give us dummies!

If it were me, I would go ahead and pay another $130.00 or so and just get a PC3. Then any other engine mods you do you can download a map yourself and load it. I really understand though if $ is tight. You will do more mods, we all do!

I'm with thedonthere! We're never really done tweaking these things no matter how many times we tell ourselves. Besides, a factory flash will still keep your AFRs on the lean side, because HD has to stay within federal emissions compliance. The XIEDs will help with closed loop, but not all the way across the map. With pipes and AC adding a Power Commander (or any of the other fuel management devices) will let you tailor your AFR map to your specific hardware configuration. Then, when you decide to change pipes, AC, do head work, whatever, you can re-map, or get it dyno-tuned to really optimize things.

You might want to check out the PC5. I haven't really done a tear and compare, but it seems to be better. In case you haven't dealt with them, the folks at Fuelmoto have good prices and are great to work with.

Good luck!

+1 for pcV it is the same just smaller wwith more options. It's a better tool. besides you will likely change your mind in a few months or weeks and get a whole new exhaust system, and then the HD D/l will be completely inadequate. and they will charge you the same price every time to reflash, which is usually done in two minutes by the shop floor monkey!

Oh ya ....there are no dumb questions here!
