Default Finally the tank is done.

After getting stuck in analysis paralysis, I finally finished the wiring of my wide glide tank on an 01 FXD. I made a sub harness that connects from the stock connection at the neck. This new sub harness, besides plugging right in with out having to cut anything, has plugs for the stock wideglide speedo and led idiot lite module. So if I ever wanted to it's just unplug and pop the original bar mounted setup back on. The tank is from a 99 WG and was painted to match the fenders (diamond ice). Next comes the front end.

Special thanks to thomsakray for his coaching as well as his inspirational avatar.

Pics of the harness later today. Time to mow the lawn..ugh.

George

Pics... pics, we must have pics

Nice job. That is a very good way to approach adapting electrical mods... give's you an out if you don't like it, or it just doesn't work.

OK - I'll take pics now - I was just enjoying the first day on no rain here in NY. I'll pull the console and take a couple of shots, Sorry for delay - George

Ok here are a couple of pictures. One with the new working console enjoying it's new home. The other is a look at the mini-harness. I had to substitute some wire colors - but all are easy to trace. After all this I wonder how they do it from the factory.
