I'm actually considering adding some pipes to my bike to let it breathe a bit better. I'm looking at a set of Samson Big Gun 3 Street Sweeper exhaust. So, what's the deal? I don't want extremely loud pipes, just a better sound and better breathing. These say they have baffles built in, which makes me think they won't be too loud. I leave for work sometimes early in the morning, and I don't want my bike to be obnoxious.


Anyone care to share their thoughts?

 

My buddy just put big gun 3 street sweepers on his 2009 lowrider...They look great, but not very loud, but it is still a good sound....he is happy with them....i have big shots on my street bob and they are way louder...

I rode next to a Fat Boy with Ground Pounders and it was loud. Of course what is loud or not is subjective to personal opinion. I just went with Cobra Dragsters that came with baffle and they make more noise than I care for.

 

i'm running the Samson Big Gun 3 long cannons,,,,puts the sound behind me,,,have good flow for race tuner and hi5 air cleaner... wife likes the noise behind her also...lol

 

You might want to consider some slip-on mufflers if you're just doing exhaust.

 

Nah, I'll piece together the whole deal bit by bit I think, air cleaner and power commander. I just have to do it one step at a time to keep the wife happy

 

my buddys got some samson's on his 08 fxdc... they sound good, nice and deep sounding. they are as loud as my short shots, but deeper. but my buddy did have an issue with quality of the pipes... the first set came in and half the logo wasnt stamped all the way, could barely read it. they next set came in and the logo wasnt too bad, still a little light in places, but also a few places in the chrome were rippled, but not so bad that he sent them back, but if you know where to look, you can see em. if you didnt know they were there, i doubt you would notice them.
