Default Street Bob brighter bulb

The bob headlight seems less bright than my fatboy. Is there a bulb replacement thats brighter?

Is there a specific requirement for motorcycles or will regular automotive bulbs work?

What about the HD Xenon bulb? Is that any good? Those bluish bulbs on cars are annoying, but you can see them coming for sure...

Sylvania Ultra Silverstar, (fatboy headlight) nice and bright.... 4K miles so far.
(reason we're putting the mileage in, is it has been said they burn out quickly)
I run these in my truck also, and have over a year on the current set.

Oh yeah.... 4100K is the color temp.

I'm running the SilverStar as well. Brighter than stock and throws a whiter hue than the stock yellow-ish bulb. Had mine 1 year and 12,000 miles and it's still going strong. I bought 2 so I'll be ready for whenever it decides to crap out.

And yes, they do make motorcycle specific bulbs. Designed specifically for higher vibration.

Silverstar Ultra also, have over 4K on mine and no issues. And it is a huge improvement over stock.

Make sure your headlight is aimed properly. I thought the same thing when I brought my bike home, once I adjusted the headlight it was a lot better. You think the dealer would have done that before they released the bike to me, oh well.

I used the PIAA for a while but they didn't seem to last very long. I was changing them out about every 3 months. The longest one lasted was 6 months.

I changed over to the Silverstar Ultras about 2 months ago and so far, so good. I was able to get a 2 pack of the Ultras at Autozone for what I was paying for a single PIAA bulb. (I think it was $29.99)

The Ultras are good all around and as bright as the PIAAs. The PIAAS definately had a better high beam though.
