I had V&H straightshot slip-ons on my '06 with a fuel pac and big sucker. The bike ran great. I went with Rush 2.5" on the '09. I love the deeper sound of the rush but the V&H look better.
How do the slip on type work as far as the install goes?
Oddly enough - just like the instructions that come with them says...
It's pretty straightforward dude. There is a bar connecting the 2 mufflers together, remove it with simple tools. There is a clamp holding each muffler to the head pipes, remove it. Then remove the mufflers (they are called slip-ons, not necessarily slip-offs. I had 2 sets and had no trouble removing either but I have seen some people have to "encourage" theirs to come off before.). "Slip" the new mufflers on, replace and tighten clamps and put the bar back on between the 2 mufflers.
I installed the Vance&Hines slip-ons ,the Drak air filter and also did the Fuelpak. It was the easiest 2 hrs I have done in awhile. Don't know how much better it runs but it seems faster and I like the sound.
I just installed the SE Revolver slip ons, along with a heavy breather and a V&H fuel pac. My 09 Fatbob now sounds much better and runs great.
I can feel a big improvement in throttle response.
a lot of rush around here. had mine since the 1k.. about 5hp not much on TQ. But a sound that is deeeeep and rumbles.... still quite while at steady speed, more police friendly if U stay out of it...
