What to use for fork oil?
Manual says type E. HD tech told me I'd need two bottles. Yet again, HD F*%*ed me. Looks like I'll need 4 looking at the manual. It is Saturday, and the dealer is 45 min away. I have the stupid thing apart right now and I need my bike tomarrow.
What else can I use, and can I buy it at an auto store? It was very spongy, so I want to go with a thicker blend. Thanks.

Manual calls for 26.6 oz per fork. The HD oil comes in 1 pt (16 oz).
WTF why would they sell it like this? Who dismantles thir front end to add a few oz's? They should know better than to sell me two pints. I guess I am the jacka$$ for not knowing thier product better than them. And yes, they knew what bike I was buying it for b/c I bought seals too. They get me... everytime!

I had the same exact happen to me, fortunately the dealer is 15 min from my house, so no big.
Wanted to mention bberck is right 26.6oz per, manual also says 4.3" from the top, easier to see, measure, correct if you need.
Measure with the fork vertical and collapsed. I don't know what HD says but have been told 1/2" + or - will help adjust stiffness, + = stiffer, - = softer.
Good luck,
