I am looking for some input for the new Double Barrels from Vance and Hines. I can only find 1 or 2 clips on Youtube to get a feel for the sound. I am looking for deep tones, no cackle, and not a LOT of noise. Also looks like it should perform like a 2 into 1 with the large chamber.
Anyways, anyone have experience with these pipes? If so what fuel and air mods you got going with them?

From my understanding the Double Barrels are quieter than the Big Shots. They have a pretty deep sound. I never heard the Big Shots but I'm guessing the DB's produce a deeper sound. I've heard that the Big Shots have the cackle sound you don't want. Are you stuck on Vance & Hines or have you looked into other companies?

 

I am not married to V&H but looking around IMHO they:
1. Look decent (clean)
2. The one or 2 soundclips I heard on youtube I like the sound (there is a VROD clip on there with them that sounds unbelievable), but it is hard to tell from laptop speakers.
3. I am assuming they will produce good power because of the chamber. could be wrong on this)
4. Are only 10db louder than stock. According to the rep.

Anyways any suggestions for a different set?

10db can be a noticeable difference depending where in the rpm range it occurs, at idle for instance.

 

The DB's I heard on a Dyna that was just rolling in and going at slow speed didn't sound much louder than my stock exhaust. So it may be what you're looking for.

As far as more power. Not sure about that one, but open up your Air cleaner....let it breath.
