Default 06 Dyna changing tank

I have a silver 06 dyna fxdi with a dent in the tank. I was just wondering what it would take to put a wide glide or other tank on. I kinda like the speedo on the tank and the bigger tank look. I figure most of the wiring would be the same but you never know thought I'd ask you guys.

the dynas have used 3 tanks since 2004.

tank#1 = 04+ Superglide, 04+ FXDX, 04-06 superglide custom (FXDC), 07 FXDSE
tank#2 = 04+ Lowrider, 06+ Street Bob, 08 FXDSE.
tank#3 = 04+ wide glide, 06 35th anniversary, 07+ Superglide custom, 08+ Fat Bob

You'll have speedo/indicator light wiring to contend with, as well as ignition wiring relocation. It's doable, but I haven't had any direct experience. I don't think HD would have different wiring harnesses for the different Dynas; maybe just routed and/or tied different ways.

you need a new speedo, new dash, new ignition switch, new lamp cluster, new fuel gauge and filler cap, new tank top plate and gasket. The speedo harness will plug right in - but you'll need to either get all of the connector pieces for the lamp side, or cut and splice. most of these parts - with the exception of the tank itself rarely show up on ebay. if you get a good tank for - lets say $300, you need to realize that you're still over $500 away from making it work.
