Default Electrical Mystery

For the whole year+ I've had my bike I've had this reoccurring electrical problem while riding. I know some others have had this and wanted to see if a solution had been found.

Everything will be running perfectly when my security light, check engine light, and battery light come on followed by the tach freezing and the speedometer falling to zero. Normally a simple restart solves this, but now it's becoming more persistent.

I have a Microtach (requires splicing wires) and a Thundermax, but both were added AFTER this problem manifested. I've also replaced all the fuzes with any sign or corrosion and opened up the console to inspect wiring.

Any thoughts?

My Sporty did that twice. Turned out to be a bad IAC (Idle Air Control?)unit. 5 minute fix.
I don't know if the Dyna has one or not

How do I check this? Mechanically, the bike runs fine. It's only the indicators that are messed up.

This has happened to me, I couldn't believe all I had to do was tighten the power and ground cables down on the battery, and that I overlooked it multiple times! This problem drove me crazy for a whole week until I noticed that the cables were just a little loose. The bike would have trouble starting, but when it started and the wires got hot it would be okay except when I would hit a bump or tryed accelerate from a complete stop.

Had similar prob on my 07 Ultra, but mine was also dying on me and I'd pull off on the shoulder, restart, and bike ran fine for a while....until it decided to screw with me again. I went as far as re-installing T-Max, O2 sensors, checking battery conns, main fuse(seen that one suggested lots of times for it being loose), wiring harnesses(unplug and plug). I finally got looking closer inside the fairing and found that one of the wires going into the ignition switch had backed out part way. I pushed it back in to where it seats....bikes been running great, guages working correct, no pulling over along side the road. It didn't sound like yours was dying on ya, but if it is, check the above items. Good luck to ya.....
