I phound that one out the hard way myself. Did you get a copy of the service manual yet? It shows the correct locations.

My '06 manual is correct. Bike was built in October. But then again, I bought it in March, so dealer may have simply replaced the manual.

Default RE: 06 owners manual wrong

Bought my FXDI last October and had the dealer do the first two services. Did an oil change myself the other day and noticed the error in the manual. Called my dealer, they weren't aware of it. [&:]

Anyway, it's a good thing my previous bike was an '04 FLHT with the same basic TC88 motor, otherwise I really would have been unsure and probably changed the trans fluid as well even though it didn't need it.

Default Oil change 06 Dyna - Is owners manual wrong

I'm looking at the manual for the 06 Dyna I have. It shows the oil change plug as on the left side of the engine, kickstand side, oriented horizontally. I see the second drain plug on the other side of the engine which is oriented vertically.
MY FXDI35 was delivered to dealer in November, but not to me until March. Can I assume I have the updated and correct owner's manual. Can someone confirm the 06 Dyna drain plug is on the left side of the engine (kickstand side) oriented horizontally?
I have 600 miles on it now - going to do dealer service at 1200 - so I'm skipping the filter. Does anyone know what the fill capacity is with filter unchanged vs with new filter? I also have the 06 Dyna oil cooler; can I assume it will drain and require and reguire an extra 1/2 quart vs a non oil cooler bike?

Thanks

You're changing your oil, but not the oil filter? Did I read that correctly?
