Default RE: Oil change 06 Dyna - Is owners manual wrong

DAMN,.............. you guys made me nervous as hell for just a moment. I just changed my primary and transmission fluid, so I had to look at my manuel again and luckily my manuel has the correct locoations. That Formula + that the dealer put in at 1000K was causing my tranny to start to slip a bit. I switched to Mobil1 20W50 in the primary and Mobil1 75W90 synthetic gear oil in my tranny. It seems to have solved the problem. I rode for about 20+ miles today with it in and shifting is alot smoother with no slipping at all. It went from a loud clunk when shifting into 1st to now just a noticable click and noticable clicks into the rest of the gears at speed instead of the loud metal clunking sound.

I know this is an old thread, but it just got me too! Manual was wrong. Here I am trying to do everything by the book, literally.

Wow... it's a pretty big screw up IMO

People still own 88s. A very appropriate resurrection.

I looked at my new-to-me '16 Road Glide's manual to see what it had to show. It seems to be correct.

I got caught by this one from the manual on my first change as well. Just went to a 3 hole change instead of just the engine that day.

Not much help for Dyna owners as they're completely different.
