Default run/tun/brake light help

2008 Street bob.

OK I am almost done getting my bike back together and am installing the kit that turns your turn signals into brake lights cause I had my rear fender shaved.

Question. I wired the turn signals directly to the harness that runs from under the seat to the rear of the bike throwing out everything else. When I turned the bike on the signals came on real bright as if the brake pedal was pressed (it wasn't) and when pressing on the brake light the lights didn't change. The turn signlas would not flash and when I removed the key from the bike the lights began to blink as if the hazard lights were on, and all the lights in the dash were blinking. I finally got the lights to turn off after turning the key on and off a few times. Looking over the bike I found I had the wires the run to the front right turn signal crossed and think that might have caused the weird flashing. But now when I turn on the key the rear lights work but only as turn signals, no brake lights and no running lights. Did I blow the module or is something not connected right? Any ideas.

Thanks guys! kinda in a hurry to get this done as the bike has been on the lift for over two months now!

yup, def blew the module. it is VERY VERY sensitive to any type of short or overload. i went through 2 modules while trying to diagnose a similar problem on my bike. thankfully, you can buy just the replacement module from the dealer though. its around 45 bucks.

not sure if yours is the same as my '03, but I just put in the Harley kit this weekend, and mine was a simple; unplug harness, plug unit inline click-click, wholla done! took about 2 minutes counting lens replacement.
