Default 90 m.p.h. wobble update.

i posted last week about a bad wobble my 09 s.b. had between 90 and 95, i took it in to the dealer on fri. expecting to get the front tire rebalanced, 1st they checked the steering head bearings, fall away, and the forks, they said the bearings were a little loose but not bad. then thay took the front wheel off and put it on a speed balancer, when they spun the wheel the problem was plain to see, the front wheel was shaped like a football!!. they had to disassemble the whole wheel, loosened all the spokes and trued the wheel. it took em about 2 hours but now its round and the problem solved.

i couldnt believe the forks were able to smooth it out as much as they did. i have a new appreciation for my suspension. it rode pretty good under 90.

Keep a careful watch on those spokes! If they came loose once the possibility of it happening again is greater.

Seems like you have a good dealer, particularly if they did this on the first try. Too often it takes way too much effort to get this type of stuff diagnosed and repaired.

Glad they got it fixed

Very cool that was found and repaired before something worse happened. I am surprised you didn't feel it at more speeds. Goes to show one shouldn't just go by bikes feel on component's function.

+1 on the mags, no more loose spokes, had the problem 3 times in 2500 miles, but mine started at about 65 mph, so I got fed up with it.
