Bikes can be fixed or replaced, people cant. I'm glad to hear that you are ok.

I hope you got his insurance info, pretty clear cut on whose fault it is.

Glad you're good, brother.

Cheers,

The driver estimated 25mph at impact, he was doing 40-45 in a 35 zone and slammed on the brakes when he realized there was a stop sign with a motorcycle stopped. It literally ripped the bike out of my hands and shot it out from under me. When I bounced of the front of the car somehow I had the sense to roll to the side afraid he was going to run me over.
I don't think he was going that fast based on the damage to me and the bike, but I suppose he could have been.

On the insurance stuff, I'll know more about how they handle the bike in the morning after I get it to the shop and told the adjuster I would call him tomorrow because I needed to time to digest the information and see how I felt in the morning physically. Thanks for the reminder though about not settling before I know for a fact that I'm not hurt.

I was really pissed when it happened, but it's hard to stay pissed when it could have turned out much worse than it did. It's all cosmetic damage and it's much easier to fix sheet metal and pipe than my back, arms and legs.

Since I was going on base I was wearing the neon yellow icon vest looking like a 200lb traffic cone, today re-enforced my belief that it doesn't matter what color you're wearing if they are going to hit you, they are going to hit regardless of how visible you've made yourself.
