Someone please help educate this guy on the difference between a softail and a dyna. I was cruising pics on Flickr and found a pick labled as a Fat Bob which is clearly a pic of a Softail and the poster was adimate that it's a Fat Bob....geez

I always wondered why it is an FX. Seems to me it is more like an FL than an FX.
Just because it is a Dyna shouldn't make a difference. Anyone know?

It's okay, you can't help some people... they just want to stew in the pot of their ignorance.

BTW those guys on that site are pretty clueless. I would have posted but didnt want to go through the registration crap. I wonder what makes someone say they know when they obviously don't have any knowledge on the subject whatsoever. .

I took 5 minutes and added to the comment wall. Should be interesting to see how many discount it.

Frame, shocks (lack of), and handle bars give it away...even the CVO's have drag style bars

Default wow

I can not wait to be able to identify my Harley's so easily. I mean honestly I don't even know what makes my bike different from a Road King. My base assumption is frame and engine are the most logical. 1989 FLHS!!!!!!! I just enjoy reading about every post on this site, can't wait to go to school for this stuff.

I have to wonder about that too. CVO springer is FX yet a cross bones which is also a spring is FL...? To me anything with a sport front end is FX ... all others should be FL.
