I'm with PitDog on this one. The perfect launch is when the front end just barely leaves the ground for an instant & you maintain control of the clutch.

Ride with Fury,

To launch off of the line with out spinning the tire, I rev to 1500-1700 rpm, light changes to green, I let the clutch out, but not dumping it completly, just faster than normal. To burn the tire I rev to 2000-2200 rpm and dump the clutch. Both of these methods are followed by twisting the throttle WFO right after the clutch is released.

drop your front sprocket down to a 29 or 30 tooth, it will improve your takeoff /tire burning ability TONS! if you go to a 29 you have to replace the stock belt which is pricey but 30 tooth works wonders and is pretty cheap for the performance you will get.

Seat time is your answer. Go to your local track on test and tune night. Watch and ask a lot of questions. There is no one answer for what you're asking as everything depends on how your bike is set up, your weight, and the list goes on and on.

If I was wanting to do a good racing launch, the first thing I would do is park my Harley in the garage. Next, I'd get on a nice crotch rocket, and go from there.

If you can't get the rear wheel to spin on your Dyna, well, your twig and berries just ain't fully developed.

I launch at 2800 rpm or so. I do ride the clutch a bit. I am in no way a pro but I can hold my own with other scrubs....hahaha

one thing i noticed no one said is learn where your clutch engages and don't pull it to far past that point. so that when you go to release it you have a faster reaction time.

apbtlvr has it right seat time does wonders.

On my 110 I take it up to 3200-3400 rpm and dump the clutch. The front wheel will lift about 4-8 inchs and carry all the way through first gear. If you want to burn the tire the correct you will have to carry some brass. Have the bike in first on good flat ground and wrap the throttle tight and dump the clutch. This will cause the tire spin like crazy. Just remember if you dont get the rpm's up the tire will grab and the front wheel will come up fast.

watch the full sack performance video on youtube and you will see what I mean.
