Default Inner Primary Bearing Survey

Taking my 06 WG to the dealer for IPB work (8100 miles). Gathering intel for help with the costs. Looking for info to find out when others had IPB work done, what work was done, what dealer and how much. Looking at the posts this ranges anywhere from no help from the MoCo to new primary case, tranny case and bearings all covered by MoCo even if the bike was out of warranty. Feel free to IM me with the info or post here. I will let you know how I make out and Thanks

The seals, bearing and race can be had online for less then $100. If the shaft or other parts are ruined will be more.
I called HD about mine since I was in the primary and found mine bad. They would cover it if I brought to a dealer. I have it apart for other reasons so am paying for the parts and doing it myself. I am not replacing the tranny case or shaft. Just the race, bearing and seals.
Here is what my race looks like second picture is it turned 180 deg.

Edited to add, mine made it almost 24k miles. And some have had issue of the rotor bolts backing out into the stator and causing issue. May have them check that out too. Mine were good but tacked them anyway for piece of mind.

Heard a bearing whirling noise at 9000 miles.

I then had my IPB replaced at 9800 miles and it still whined. Then had my IPB and both tranny bearings replaced at my 10K service 1 week later and that was 2 weeks ago.
Bike still whines... same noise as before. 3 weeks ago they told me I had a problem. Now they tell me the noise is normal. I have never heard this whinney noise coming from any of my friends bikes... so who the f*** knows?

All covered under warranty. (my warranty is up 10/2009)

Top;
I'd ride the **** out of it between now and your warranty expiration. I'm a little surprised you had a problem with an '07, though I've heard of a few '07's and '08's have them fail. Hope yours holds, but ANY noise would be giving me the heebies.

My IPB went at 12K and now have 24k and I think Im starting to hear it again. I didnt get the ex warranty so its going to be on me this time. Is there a different brand of bearing that i can get other than HD?

I called HD direct when I found mine bad while torn down. They said they would cover it if I took to a dealer and had them diagnose it bad. I opted to cover it myself for less down time. But you should be able to get it repaired on HD's dime.
