I was going to say what Patrick just did. Maybe get some gel pads put in before you recover it. I have the same seat and if I had a reason to recover it I would add the gel.

You could probably get the hole fixed. I know they can do good jobs with car seats and assume they could with your seat, although MC seats are subject to harsher conditions.

You might be able to get the seat repaired. I have seen car dealers fix cigarette burns on seats. Or just have it recovered. I have seen posts talking about a place folks send there seats off to. I have a Sundowner and although ugly it is a road seat. Ride it all day long. As someone noted the Badlander will eat you up. I had a Lepera two up on my Sportster and it was also a comfortable seat, but not cheap, 300+

For solo riding I really like my Mustang wide vintage solo.

There is obviously a lot of options. If you are willing to pay the $, the Lepera Sorrento is awesome. Good looks and comfort. In my opinion Lepera's products are second to none.

a stock Fat Bob seat might not be a bad choice. It isn't a Sundowner but you'd be surprised how decent a seat it is.

I like the copper and black paint, really sets the bike off.
