SO...I was really pushing my scoot about 3/4 throttle when I hit the rev limiter in 5th gear.....

The ma-chine felt like it had a lot more.....

Any Ideas around this????

There is a newer program for the power commander the changes the rev limiter up to 6200 rpm.

 

I was also told by my dealer that the stage 1 download also increases the rev limiter.

what is the new program for the power commander, I just installed the PCIII a week ago and it did not raise the rev limiter at all. I have the Big Radius and high flow AC. They had the exact map i needed but it DID NOT raise the rev limiter. I have hit mine more than once. I am used to winding out the gears like in my rocket. I have to get used to that.

But I do think Harley sets the Limiter too LOW.

 

If the engine is basically stock, you've fallen way off the power curve before you hit the redline. If you really want to accelerate hard, shift sooner.

 

rev limit in 5th you were doin 120mph hit 6th and see how fast you can go ive been about 130 on my 06fxldi and tther was more left

 

wow, do you have something done to engine, cause the stock one will not go that fast according to topspeed.com and some other sources. The top speed on the Superglide 06' is about 110.

 

I had my 06 (simple stage one) with tuned SERT at an indicated 115 on a few occassions. It was still pulling and had more to go so I think opening the bike up is good for 120.

 

I think topspeed.com has some erroneous information. I've had mine up to 105-110mph and the limiting factor was not the bike but the chicken riding it. [:-]
