RE: sundowner deep seat
Rick,
I too was looking for a better "two up" seat for my 06 wide glide. Something with a little more padding for the wife. Although I've ridden bikes with sundowners, and like the way they feel ( a bit more lower back support for the rider, on longer runs), I just didn't like the bulky look on a wide glide. The sundowner is 16" wide(rider), 12" (passenger). I went with the new "touring seat" for the wide glide, which is only 15" wide and gives a slightly better look overall. It is also plenty comfy for the passenger and still gives me more lower back support than the stock seat. I'm also of course able to change back to the stock seat in about 10 minutes. Hope this helps. I'll post a pic of the bike with this seat tomorrow, it's still in the camera.

RE: sundowner deep seat
Here is my 06 Bob with the Sundowner seat.
It is easily removable in about 30 seconds (I have the HD removable screw for ease of use). I regularly swap it for the solo seat when I am riding by myself. As far as the grab handle is concerned, I wrap it up, secure with a rubber band and hide it under the solo seat - it tucks away nicely.
The HD seat bumper kit leaves two little black rubber pads visible on the rear fender (they are stuck there), but you could attach those to the sundowner seat itself, if you wanted it totally clean. I use a detachable rack when I have the solo on, you don't really see them, so I have not worried about it.
BTW, the sissy bar and rack in this photo is also detachable - make sure you get a set of locks for your detachable components.
