Hope you don't have to use it, but personally, I've never bought an extended warranty in my lifetime and I know I'm ahead of the game. YMMV.

I have bought 3 extended warranties...claims never exceeded what I spent on the warranties so I don't get them anymore.

If you have to pay for warranty....... it's not a warranty.
It's a service contract at best.

I say no they aren't that bad (the bikes). Extended warrantees are high margin sales that many times have bonuses for those that sell them which is why the big push when closing the deal. It's a win win deal for one party and it isn't the buyer unless you have a freak catastrophic failure.

I am glad you're pleased with the deal. After all, a good deal is simply a matter of perception and if you're pleased, it's a good deal. My own preference is to self-insure... that is, not buy extended warranties and understand that repairs and replacements are a cost of doing business. Well, there is ONE exception... I buy them on video game consoles because they are almost always pieces of **** that die or need replaced way too soon, IMO.

I would buy one for a car/truck but not for the bike. If you do any mods to the engine then it's voided. For me 5 years to wait is just too long. The tire /wheel thing, may make it worth it but seems like you got to go thru a lot of tires to break even
