Default Looking for a little power? Changing cams?

I was talking with a guy the other day about a cam and a gear drive he put in his Dyna. He didn’t do anything to the pistons or heads, just the cam. He said he got a boost in power and his bike definitely loped out at idle pretty nice for a fuel-injected bike. He didn’t know specifics about what cam the mechanic put in it. Has anyone here done that to their bike or anything good or bad about just changing the cam. I would like to do something to get a little more power but don’t have much money to spend. Stage 2 would be definitely out of the question for me right now. I already have the stage 1 done.

Cams will be a great addition. I put a set in this winter and it made a noticable difference. Only other mods are SE A/C, PC3 and pipes.

How do you allow someone to put something on or in your motor and not know at least the model number for future reference.

Eastern Performance did the cams on mine. Does sound just like you said. If the rain would stop in this s***hole state , I'll have a chance to take it to ACP and have it properly dyno tuned.

The guy who mounted my new rear tire also builds an occcasional bike. We got into the discussion of 103, 110 kits etc. Based on his experience, for reliability sake, add cams and maybe some head work and leave the rest alone. Outside of his Harley's and custom bobber, he own a Honda if he feels the need to go fast.

I have stage 1 with pcV and have noticed I can zip thru gears way faster now!half way down a city block I can be doing 65 mph at the top of second (with some left to spare) if yours has stage one then I bet it does the same. If I drive like that how long before there's a cop sitting somewhere who steps out of his car and waves me over? or a kid runs out or some cager pops out his/her driveway? the question is how fast do you want your harley to go? Everyone on here is worried about vibraton ,primary bearings piston rings and pistons and gas mileage and so on. Stock my fatbob could wheel around cars in traffic like they were standing still.....

"I need more power Scotty -aye captain you'll have it. let's just hope she doesn't rattle apart on us!"

Keep building and soon your rear tire will just spin when you ease out the clutch! Forgive me my rant dude but if money is tight and you want to change something i suggest some suspension upgrades that wil really improve your ride.
Now let's hope I never do that mod and hve to eat my words!!LOL!

cams make a HUGE difference.... get rid of those stockers, and get some SEs, Andrews, HQs, etc.
