Wow, I really feel for you. The same thing happen to me and a friend. His American Iron Horse chopper came loose in the enclosed trailer (we didn't see it until we stopped). Luckily for me his tank rested on the end of my kuryakyn grip instead of my tank. My grip rub a spot about the size of a half-dollar in his tank but did not dent it. The damage to me: a new grip end cap from Kuryakyn ($15). The damage to the American Iron Horse:
$1100 to repaint the spot. American Iron Horse in Dallas wanted $2500 to repaint the tank! Thank God for good old Vivid Black paint jobs!

I agree with Joe, a good air brush artist should be able to fix that, and you'll never know it happened. Sorry to see it though. That clear coat looks like 10 mils or more, they'll have to build it up a little after color blending, before they reshoot the whole tank with clear. Good luck.

Seriously though my condolances man. Yours is one of my favorite paint jobs.
Hope it repairs nice and cheaply.
