Bone headed mistake, out of commission for a few days.

I can't imagine that all that much is different for a fuel line...

Last month putting my bike back together the last part was the tank. Got it bolted back on, new braided EFI line back on, console on...very excited to get it back together, started pouring gas into the tank....HEY! Whats that noise? Oh thats the gas running all over the engine and my garage floor because I forgot to put the crossover line on...
Although gas does take oily fingerprints off chrome rocker boxes...

On my 82, I had just bought a set of Chrome Billet Forward controls, I go and put them on and as im putting the shifter peg on I think its just supposed to slide through the hole, and it didnt fit, so I took the Drill out with a bigger sized drill bit, started to drill and looked at the peg again and it was THREADED, said "Oh Sh*T" and stopped before I did the whole thing, all was good after...Also when I added my PC-V on my 07 I forgot to put one of the battery cables back on so it didnt start and I was pissed all the night LoL...Good Times Good Times

Let's see? well there was my arlen ness Big Sucker ,did tighten with wrist power when fingers would have been plenty! So I cracked the aluminum housing--but not in 1 but two of the three holes! Sent it back and waited two weeks for the replacement
Accidentally drained the primary when trying to change engine oil.
And once i was changing fork oil in my old yamie 175 enduro and kept my face right above the cap bolt---WHACK three stiches to the right eyelid. I got really lucky that time! I ws 17 and the bike was my only transport,so i finished the job-both forks- and rode to the hospital 20 miles away with a band aid on my eye and my girlfreind holding on behind me-- man ! crazy times!
What a great thread to reminice the good (bad) old days!

Howdy from Burke, r00k!
Well, no real bone-headed moves that resulted in damage to the bike, but I banged my own knuckles up once real bad (haven't we all). I was removing the mount that holds the front of the chain guard to add passenger pegs. If you've ever tried it, you'll know that thing is sunk tight. Slipped, and left my knuckles on the bike and the blood on the ground!
