I'm with you. Been there done that with speed on bikes. Now I just like to cruise. I have hit close to 100 on my Dyna passing someone but otherwise I rarely go over 70.

Takes only a few seconds to get used to cruising 100+, but when you have to slow down, takes a long time before 70 stops feeling like you're creeping.

I have had mine at 110 in 4th. It wouldn't pull past that in 5th or 6th. I will update this thread after the t6-6s go in and the heads go on.

I wonder why it wouldn't go more in 5th or 6th?

I'm in the 115mph club...it was night time and long straight stretch of highway. I figured any moment there'd be junk in the road or a police officer behind a bush waiting for me. I agree through, it feels like there's TONS of pull and power to spare, i was maybe cranked at 3/4 throttle. Everything is a blur like a giant vortex, i loved it.

I've driven a number of bikes and cars that would go faster if you dropped them down one or two gears. A lot of them are just geared too tall in high gear for the engine power to overcome high speed wind resistance (but get way better gas mileage at highway speeds). If you compute the engine red line as speed, a lot of cars would go 160 in high gear; at the low rpm and torque they have at 120mph, few cars have the power to any higher in high gear; drop down a gear to get the rpm's in a better power range, and they'll do it. Bikes are the same way. I redlined a Honda some years ago in third, it would barely hold that speed in 4th, and felt like the engine died when I shifted to 5th, and dropped almost 20mph. It's all a combination of hp, torque, rpm, and even wind resistance.

Oh got the ole fjr up to 110 once trying to kept up with my buddies. Then I thought, what the heck - they can wait for me.

Little fun going that fast on an un-controlled course. Too much can go wrong!
