How Fast Can You Go
#13
I've been stupid a couple times in my life:
1st: Taking a Kawi H2 triple to 140.
2nd: Taking my Yamaha Seca 750 to 140.
I've had my dyna up to 95 when passing someone, (*** started to accelerate on me when I was coming around him) and was amazed at how fast this "cruiser" got there. I'm not one to tempt fate..... my dyna goes as fast as I want to.

BTW, how accurate is the HD speedo? I've never seen a post regarding the Harley speedometer accuracy.
The Kawi's are known to be off about 10% so I had a speedohealer installed and calibrated with a GPS unit for accuracy.

Man, this thread really takes me back to my younger days. My fastest verified was on a '74 Kaw Z1 with a 1300cc kit on it. 158 MPH checked with a radar gun "borrowed" by a young cop friend of mine when he was off duty. Took about 3 miles to get there, but that was as fast as it would go with me laying on the tank and my feet on the rear turn signals. Amazing that I lived thru those times. Ripping around at 120 didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary back then. I used to do that stuff & think nothing of it. Now 55/60 seems about right.

I have the stage 1 A/C and screamin eagle tuner, vance and hines big radius pipes. Last summer I decided to experiment. Found a good downhill thats leads into a good flat spot then goes up another hill. By the time I git the up hill I was at 120. Kinda seemed like the computer stopped me before the hill did, but not sure. Haven't gone over 90 since then though.

I can't actually say from a lot of personal experience one way or the other. I made that statement in reference to the numerous threads posted by folks who have; and also in reference to the fact that there are several companies that are staying in business producing braces to fix it. Apparently, some bikes are worse than others. The general concensus is that the '09 frames addressed and fixed this perceived, according to the MOCO, "non-existant", problem.
